I didn't take notes so this is all from memory. Apologies if I miss some details or get something wrong. This thread is mainly to discuss sideboard strategy for Jeskai Tempo. So far my strategy has been to side out all my creatures game 2 and transform into a control/burn deck but I've started to question if that is always the best move.
Match one vs Davi U/B control
I don't have much recollection of this match other than Davi casting Pearl Lake Ancient and racing me game two I believe. It was pretty close but I had enough burn and Jeskai Charms to edge out the game. I stayed with the regular sideboard plan in this match up.
W 1-0
Match two vs Tyler Temur
I was a little nervous about this match up. Having access to all the G/R monsters with counter back up seems good. Tyler took a mull on game one and and I was able to burn and banishing light his guys until he ran out of gas. Game two I stuck to the sideboard plan. I don't remember too much about game two I believe I countered one or two of his creatures and he ran out of gas holding two useless Anger of the Gods against my creatureless deck.
W 2-0
Match three vs Brian Abzan
Game one Brian played a scry land turn one. Turn two he thoughtseized me then passed the turn without playing a land. This put him too far behind and he wasn't able to cach up. At this point I put him on Sidisi Whip and went with the tride and true sideboard plan for game two. Game two I just couldn't get ahead Brian resolved atleast three Seige Rhino's and Elspeth while I fell behind the land race and wasn't able to cast more than one spell a turn. This match was a slow grind with Brian eventually resolving Elspeth and gaining incremental advantage as I had to waste multiple cards dealing with single threats. Going into game three I was unsure what the best route was. In game two as control I felt like I was always behind and being that I was on the play I decided to take the more aggressive path. I wish I would have written down what I sideboarded but I took out anger of the gods and seeker of the way for negate x2 and disdainful stroke I believe. I got double rabblemaster and a key negate made sure they lived. Two Rabblemasters is hard to deal with. I believe he killed one a turn later but I was so far ahead at that point. This was the first time I sided back into creatures and I feel like it was right even if my sideboarding was off.
W 3-0
Match four vs Rick Green splash Red
I offered the split but we both had eyes on the same prize and decided to play for it. Game one was an epic battle with Rick dropping some bomb and me trying to deal with it. I know I dropped turn two seeker of the way and kept running him into a kourser with instant back up to do some damage and gain some life. At some point i dropped Mantis Rider and got in for three then he dropped Arbor Colossus. I banished the colossus and swung in again bouncing off kourser but gaining three life and connecting with the Rider. One Rider met his fate to a Crater's claws but another rose to take it's place. He played Polukranos which I ran my seeker into and traded a lightning strike for, again netting me three life and connecting with the Rider for three. He dropped two mana dorks and another polukranos. I swung in for three and passed turn. He eventually monstoused Polu up to a 9/9 and swung with the team for 11. Since I had a nice coushin of life due to Seeker I took the damage and was able to burn him out. Game two I kept in the creatures even though I was on the draw. I didn't want to be week to a Mistcutter Hydra. Rick took a greedy keep of one land and at least two mana dorks. When he didn't drop a land on turn two I started aggressively burning his mana dorks keeping him off mana and he couldn't catch up.
W 4-0
So my question is when do you go control and when do you stay aggro?
